MANUFACTURING PROCESS
We start with a detailed bill of materials (BOM) and Gerber files. The BOM lists the electronic components needed, while the Gerber files provide a blueprint for PCB fabrication and printed circuit board design. Without these, we can't generate a quote because they serve as the roadmap and shopping list for the assembly.
Once received, our team uses advanced software to send bid requests to thousands of suppliers, factoring in availability, lead time, and cost. We then provide a detailed quote covering PCB board assembly costs and any non-recurring engineering (NRE) expenditures.
We meticulously source all the components or verify consigned materials, ensuring everything is in place to meet order requirements. Each component is carefully counted and verified before hitting the production line. We also generate unique internal documentation for each build, assigning part numbers to every prepared PCB and component for full traceability.
The next step is preparing the bare boards for surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly. Every board is tagged with a 2D barcode to track its progress through each assembly stage.
We then apply solder paste using a solder paste printer and stainless steel stencil derived from the Gerber files. This is followed by solder paste inspection (SPI) to ensure the paste requirements are met.
With the boards ready, components are loaded into feeders for our four SMT lines—two high-speed and two standard lines. Our pick-and-place machine accurately places SMT components onto the solder paste, setting the stage for the next step.
Before reflow soldering, we perform a pre-oven Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) to ensure correct polarity, spacing, placement, and markings. This critical step confirms that all components meet the program’s requirements, reducing the risk of errors before the reflow stage.
Next, the boards go through a reflow oven that gradually heats them at various temperature zones to liquify the solder without damaging any components. This reflow soldering process is critical to forming strong joints and reliable solder connections.
Once cooled, we perform a post-oven automated optical inspection to detect any placement errors or defects. With direction from our customer, we determine the frequency of inspection based on the number of boards in the panel to ensure the PCBAs are adequately inspected before moving to the next phase of the assembly.
We use wave soldering and selective soldering machines (SSM) to ensure precise solder joints for assemblies requiring through-hole components. We can also handle mixed assembly projects, including SMT and through-hole components. Additionally, manual soldering is utilized for unique components requiring special attention.
After assembly, we conduct a final inspection of all boards, performing any necessary functional tests to ensure product quality. Our inspection team verifies that each assembled board meets IPC standards before being approved for final shipment.
We manage custom packaging and delivery logistics, ensuring the assembled boards are securely packed and reach their destination securely and on time. Each order is tracked to maintain full visibility throughout the shipping process.

We offer a variety of testing and inspection methods, including 2D and 3D solder paste printing inspection (SPI), automated optical inspection (AOI), functional test, and X-ray inspection for hidden defects. Our quality assurance processes also feature dielectric (Hi-Pot) testing and in-circuit testing to ensure optimal performance and safety throughout the assembly stages.
For consigned assembly projects, where customers supply their own components, we begin by thoroughly verifying all materials to ensure they meet our quality standards. Our team then integrates these components into the assembly process with the same attention to quality and accuracy as we would for components we source ourselves.
If a PCB fails during testing, we immediately conduct a root cause analysis to identify the issue. Depending on the nature of the defect, our corrective action could involve reworking the board, replacing defective components, or, if necessary, scrapping the board. We then retest the board to ensure compliance with the original requirements before approving it for shipment.
We can attach components across a large range of types, including surface-mount devices (SMD), THT components, and specialized components such as leadless package parts. We are also equipped to manage complex assemblies involving assembling BGA and plated through-hole connections, using advanced soldering techniques for precision.
